Setting Up Windows 2000 Clients for Remote VPN Access

Setting up a VPN connection on a Windows 2000 workstation to a Windows 2000 or other PPTP-based VPN server involves setting up a network connection as follows:

1.	In the Start menu, under Settings, Network and Dial-Up Connections, select Make New Connection. Click Next at the intro screen.
2.	Select Connect to a Private Network through the Internet and click Next.
3.	At the Public Network screen, you can specify a particular Dial-Up Networking connection that needs to be run first to connect you to the Internet, before the PPTP tunnel is established across the Internet connection.
