Now that you have configured ColdFusion MX and built your first application, let’s talk about performance. Performance is speed—period. When users are surfing the web, they want the pages to render instantaneously. Whether the pages are static Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) or data-driven templates, users will leave your site if they experience any unreasonable response time. Your job as a web site developer or ColdFusion administrator is to ensure that your application operates at maximum performance for a single request and that your servers and network have the optimum capacity to efficiently handle simultaneous requests.
