What Is a Distribution List?

A distribution list (DL) is a convenient way to group users and/or contacts together so that the list can be referenced as a single entity. For example, the Exchange Web Service team has distribution lists for its development, test, and triage teams. A given contact can reside in zero, one, or more distribution lists.
