Folder Types

As mentioned briefly in Chapter 3, you encounter several different types of folders when dealing with Exchange Web Services. These folder types and their relationship to each other are shown in Figure 4-2.

BaseFolderType

The base schema type for all folder types supported by Exchange Web Services is BaseFolderType. The schema identifies BaseFolderType as an abstract type. Several properties are exposed on BaseFolderType, and by the nature of schema derivation, these properties are also available on all derived types.[39] Refer to Table 4-1 for a listing of BaseFolderType properties.
