Finding Store Contacts and Distribution Lists

Finding contacts and distribution lists is as simple as making a FindItem call against the contacts folder of interest. Of course, if that was all there was to it, we wouldn’t be talking about it in this chapter. You can indeed make a FindItem call and get contacts and distribution lists back, but Exchange Web Services exposes a contact-specific paging mechanism that is intended to make your life a bit easier.

Say you want to provide an address book user interface (UI) view of all of the contacts in a user’s contacts folder. A reasonable approach is to break contacts into alphabetical pages so that all the contacts whose last name starts with A are on one page and those with B are on the next page. ...
