Understanding Calendar Items

Soon we are going to take an in depth look at all of the properties on calendar items, but before we get to that, we want to introduce three concepts that are important to understand when working with calendar items. Those concepts are

  • Recurrences

  • Meetings

  • Free/Busy Status

Introducing Recurrences

A sequence of calendar items that follow a distinct pattern and are delimited by a range is called a recurring series. A recurring series is created by setting the Recurrence property on a new or existing calendar item with a recurrence pattern and recurrence range. The calendar item that then holds the information in its Recurrence property is called the recurring master.
