Chapter 21. Availability

The telephone was a magnificent invention, and though it still excels for such scenarios as carrying on a conversation, confirming appointments with people, or sending informational updates, let’s face it, when it comes to scheduling, the telephone just doesn’t cut it. We’ve all been in that situation where we try to assemble a group of friends for something as simple as a movie night, only to have our conversations bounce back and forth between all the interested parties.

"How about Friday night, Brian?"

"Not good; I have practice until 8:30. How about Saturday evening?"

"That works for me, but I’ll have to check with Andy." [click]
