Photoshop's Native Filters

Basically, Photoshop CS's filters can be broken down into two categories: Gallery Effects filters (artistically bent filters that are a legacy of Aldus Gallery Effects plug-ins) and filters that are more “practical” in their use, such as removing noise, sharpening an image, offsetting a picture, and so on.

Note

Filter Gallery filters The Filter Gallery contains filters that apply their effect uniformly pixel by pixel. Other filters do their magic by taking into account surrounding pixels. And that typically means that antialiasing is not used with these filters.
