Understanding how your digital camera transfers images to your computer requires that you understand a little about your camera's basic anatomy. Your camera contains a sensor that captures the image, an internal computer that controls the images captured by the sensor, and a removable memory card on which the picture is stored (this memory card goes by many names including media card or digital film).
