Finding and Removing the Dominant Color's Influence

Photoshop users who are familiar with the selection tools might be tempted to select the areas that are affected by the color cast and then remove the cast only in those selected areas. But that technique is counter-productive because a color cast affects the entire image, and the entire image benefits from removing the offending color. Yes, certain situations or specific effects require the selecting and correcting of certain areas of the image (as you will see later in this chapter). But for most images with a color cast, you should resist the temptation to color correct specific areas.
