Using Curves for Special Effects

You can do more with Curves than correct the colors and the tonal range in photographs. You can take the color correction in the opposite direction and make the colors very incorrect! In fact, you can distort colors in ways that only the Curves command can create; no other Photoshop command or filter can create the whacked-out colors that Curves can!

In the following short set of steps, you will apply a curve setting that greatly distorts the colors in a photograph of the front of an antique car. Afterwards, you are encouraged to experiment on your own.
