Converting a Selection to a Path

Using Photoshop's Convert Selection to Path feature fits right into our workflow here. But we must say that, with small selections, the accuracy of the feature isn't 100%. If you want to go off and do some independent study—and hand-trace the cowboy and his horse—more power to you, and that's what I would do. Study Chapter 6, “Using the Pen Tools,” for valuable tips on doing this! But for now, we're going to work through a different technique for exploration's sake.
