Typography

Just as Geography is the study of the Earth, Mythology is the study of unicorns and fairy princesses and stuff, and Olliology is the study of Laurel and Hardy (sorry), Typography is the study of type—how it works (or doesn't) to convey a message. Typography also invites the examination of columns of text (how wide you should make a column using a specific font before the reader's head starts boinging like an old-fashioned carriage return) and how the placement of text along with pictures helps constitute a good page layout.
