Animation with Photoshop

To those who see Photoshop as a tool to edit static images, using Photoshop to create animation might seem like using a backhoe to flip a pancake. However, when used in tandem with ImageReady, Photoshop is actually an excellent tool for creating short animations for the Web. In this chapter, you get first-hand experience in making three different kinds of exciting, dynamic GIF animations for a Web site. For each animation, you use Photoshop to create the graphics that compose the animation and then switch over to ImageReady to assemble the images into a compact, eye-catching file.
