Creating Animated Dissolving Text

In movies and on TV, one of the classic visual special effects used to get your attention or to signal a change of scene is the dissolve. In a dissolve, the image simultaneously breaks up into small pieces and fades. Dissolves are very effectively used in all kinds of multimedia, Web, and video projects.

The fundamental concepts and processes that go into making a dissolve animation are universal; only the details differ from project to project and medium to medium. Once you've had a chance to get your feet wet creating the GIF animation we've lined up for you, you'll be able to approach with confidence almost any animation project that involves something melting away into nothingness.
