Setting Up an XML-ready Template
Now that you’re familiar with XML and have an overall understanding of the workflow, you’re ready to create a template specifically designed for automating a layout with XML.
Step 1: Create a Sample Layout
Determine which of the two methods you’ll use to set up your template. Every publication is different, so study the design and choose the method that is most appropriate for your circumstances. Here are a few tips for choosing a method:
If your publication contains one item per page, such as a set of certificates, recipe cards, envelopes, or flyers, you can create multiple instances of the sample layout and place each instance on a page of its own.
