In this recipe, we will learn about building and creating a distributable for a Java EE application and how to deploy it.

How to do it...

Let's start with creating a database, which is the first step to create a Java EE application:

  1. Go to the Services window and click on Databases | Java DB | Start Server.
  2. Go to the Services window and click on Databases | Java DB | Create Database.
  3. Enter Database Name as Feedback.
  4. Enter User Name as packt.
  5. Enter Password as packt and retype it in the Confirm Password field.
  6. Do not change the default Database Location path.
  7. Click on OK to create the database.
