In six easy steps, you can install Sinatra and get it set up on your system.
Before you install Sinatra, you will need to check that you have all of the following required elements:
- Disk space: 100 MB free (min). You'll need space for Ruby, Sinatra, and other associated libraries, and for your project itself. A Sinatra project can easily fit in 30 MB of hard disk space, but more space may be needed for images and other media files.
- Memory: 256 MB (min), 1 GB (recommended).
- Operating system: Preferably Ubuntu Linux or Mac OS X. Sinatra development on Windows is possible, but presents numerous extra problems and so is not covered in this book.
