We all know that men and women were created equal – except, that is, when it comes to living longer.
Women outlive men by nearly six years and the gender gap is getting wider. Doctors think hormones may have a part to play. During their reproductive years, women are much less likely than men to suffer from heart disease, because their high levels of oestrogen lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and raise HDL (good) cholesterol.
