Do you use complementary medicine? Once people might have thought you were weird, but these days so many of us use complementary medicines, you’d be weird not to give one a try.
Many complementary and alternative medicines are based on the opinion that they probably work, rather than lots of evidence that they actually cure people. But there’s little evidence that they don’t work, either.
Some complementary practitioners are also doctors, physiotherapists or nurses who are state registered with their own professional bodies. Others, such as osteopaths and chiropractors, are registered with their own statutory bodies; in France and Germany, it’s mostly medically trained doctors who practise complementary therapy. ...
