In VMware Player, one thing that is noticeably missing from the list of boot options is a USB device. The Player's default BIOS does not allow a VM to boot to a USB; however we can get around that limitation by using the PLoP Boot Manager utility. A talented software developer named Elmar Hanlhofer developed the PLoP utility along with other useful Windows Administration Tools. In addition, since the PLoP Boot Manager can be downloaded as an ISO image, there is no need to actually burn PLoP to a CD.
