Abstract

SARLUX has developed a new Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) plant designed to produce, in an environmentally friendly manner, electric power (about 570 MWe gross power), steam, and hydrogen (60,000 Nm3/h), using high-sulfur refinery residues (vacuum visbroken residue (VVR), vacuum residue and asphalt) as feedstock. The plant is located inside the Saras refinery in Sarroch, Sardinia island (Italy).
