Chapter 7. Understanding the Report Object Model

This chapter provides an overview of the BIRT ROM and the primary elements that comprise the model. ROM defines the rules for constructing a valid report design file in much the same way that HTML defines the rules for constructing a valid web page. ROM, therefore, is the model for the BIRT report design file in the same way that HTML is the model for the web page.
