Section 2. The Access 2007 (accdb) File Format and SharePoint

It is important to understand that if you want to integrate with SharePoint data from within Access, not only must you use Access 2007, but you must also have your database stored in the Access 2007 (accdb) file format. There are a few reasons for this. The first is multivalued lookup fields, new to Access 2007 and the accdb file format. Multivalued lookup fields enable you to store multiple values in a single field, creating in effect a many-to-many relationship within the field. An example is a SoldBy field.
