Web APIs are the most common way to communicate with ML services. However, there are many reasons why you might not be able to use external web APIs. For example, compliance and regulatory requirements may prevent you from sending data outside your firm, or there might not be a suitable ML service for your use case. Even for internally developed ML models, there are reasons to not use web APIs as the communication method. An example is to run models directly on the Digital Worker API as this doesn’t require additional web server infrastructure.
