Chapter 3. Creating a Batch Class

A batch class is the definition of how Ephesoft processes a set of documents (a batch). You can have many batch classes defined with each batch class monitoring different sources for incoming content. When Ephesoft discovers a set of documents, it will create a new batch instance and associate that batch instance with a batch class based on the originating drop folder, scanner, or e-mail account.

Throughout this chapter we will walk you through the following topics:

  • Copying an existing batch class
  • Creating new document types
  • Training the system for classification and separation
  • Creating fields
  • Setting up basic Key/Value extraction
  • Regular expression listing
  • Exporting
