This indicates her preparedness to switch on the
indicator and suggests that she has recognised that they are approaching
their destination. But it is still the passenger’s subsequent actions that occa-
sion the use of the indicator and the junction-negotiation activity. In line 5,
the passenger begins a turn (I don’t,) but never brings the utterance to an end.
