3 Middleware Architecture
ITV middleware has a number of features that set it apart from other programming environments. This chapter examines these features, and provides a high-level overview of how an MHP or OCAP middleware stack is put together.
Before we start looking in any detail at the various parts of the OCAP or MHP middleware, we need to have a general understanding of what actually happens inside a DTV receiver that is built around these standards.
