UN Guiding Principles on InternalDisplacement
In response to a request of the UN Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR) to develop an appropriate normative framework for the protection and assistance of the internally displaced, the Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Internally Displaced Persons prepared these Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement, in collaboration with international legal experts and in consultation with UN agencies and other organizations, international and regional, inter-governmental and non-governmental. The Guiding Principles were submitted by the Representative to the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-fourth session.
