How to Make the Connection
Whatever type of database the Web developer is going to connect to, he will need to know where the database is physically located. In most cases, that may mean creating a Data Source Name (DSN). In my experience, most database access requires that a System DSN be configured on the Internet Information Services server. But because you may run across a couple other common types of connection requests, this section elaborates on them.
Before you can connect to a database, you will need to have the following information available:
