Chances are that even if you are new to the networking industry, you have heard of voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). VoIP is the transport of voice traffic over an IP infrastructure rather than over the traditional time-division multiplexing (TDM)-based telephone network, also called the public switched telephone network (PSTN).
