Two-Dimensional Interval Finite Element


In this chapter, we will discuss two-dimensional interval finite elements, viz. plane truss, beam, plane frame, and linear triangular elements. Introduction to these elements has first been presented. Then, a systematic formulation of stiffness matrices and the elemental equations with intervals are established. The formulation of stiffness matrices and elemental equations is described by using interval finite element method. The interval parameters are transformed to crisp form by using parametric representation.
