One of the most distinctive characteristics of the Rambler crew is their focus on careful preparation. Mix Bencsik captured it this way:
I can only describe our preparation as meticulous. It's one of the key strengths of the team, and it starts with Ed's meticulous nature. The list of things to do usually runs into five or six full pages. Even if the boat is brand-new, the list is long.
