Stage 4: integration

This is a point in time where the controls and procedures are now embedded within the quality assurance systems and culture of the organisation. The Intranet becomes the ‘definitive record’ of all information, process, knowledge and therefore learning that exists in the organisation.

This stage represents the required threshold of the Intranet’s evolution from that of the organisation’s central information repository to becoming the ‘corporate memory’ (Kuhn and Abecker, 1999). The prevailing issue now is the continuous improvement of processes that nurture the capture, sharing and creation of knowledge.
