characteristics of a modern word processor. It basically invented the word-processing segment of
this industry.
Then, during early to mid-1980s, the PC emerged and PC-based word processors like WordPerfect
and Microsoft Word became the rage. Wang made no attempt to modify its software for the PC and
died out. Wang fell into the trap of not updating its products, even though it basically had invented
this segment of the industry.
