The differences and use of search directories, search engines, and metasearch engines are discussed. This chapter also includes multiple sites that can support the investigator’s identification of email addresses and telephone numbers. Additionally, information is provided to help the investigator identify background data on companies. Throughout the chapter there are tips for conducting effective investigative Internet searches.
