5. System Accounts and Native Twitter APIs

With iOS 5, Apple introduced two entirely new frameworks to the iOS SDK: Accounts and Twitter. These frameworks are designed to reduce the amount of code and complexity needed to create apps that interact with external authentication services and APIs. With the initial launch of iOS 5.0, Apple primed this infrastructure to support the management of system-type accounts, particularly accounts that interacted with the OAuth-based Twitter API.
