Expectations and Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for iOS development are pretty simple: the latest version of Xcode, and a Mac OS X computer that can run it. As of this update in April 2015, that means Xcode 6.3, and a Mac running OS X 10.10 (“Yosemite”).

All code in this book uses the Swift programming language, which is new in Xcode 6, making this book one of the first to offer a thorough guide to using Swift with the iOS frameworks.
