Making iPhone Your Personal Assistant
As much as we believe they make the office or small business run more smoothly and efficiently, secretaries and administrative assistants seem to be rare outside of a large corporate setting. (If you are a secretary or admin, we tip our hats to you.) If you don’t have a secretary, your iPhone can be a fair substitute. Chapter 1 of this minibook is about keeping in touch. We show you how to import contacts to your iPhone from existing sources and then how to keep all your devices in-sync and up-to-date. Chapter 2 reviews the Calendar, Reminders, and Clock apps that came with your iPhone and gives you tips for scheduling your time, making to-do lists, remembering tasks, and being on time. Chapter 3 is chock full of apps that help you get where you need to go, namely Maps, Compass, and the new Passbook app that manages boarding passes and store cards. We also introduce you to the Weather app so you know if you need an umbrella where you’re going. The Calculator and Stocks apps are covered in Chapter 3 so you can add up the profits from your investments.
