Cache

It's nearly impossible to have a discussion relating to application performance and optimization without including cache at some point or another.

The basic idea behind cache is to increase resource access efficiency by loading and temporarily storing necessary data. Cache provides an opportunity to stretch network and system resources much further than traditional means, by limiting required retrieval resources that might otherwise be tied up in traditional operations.
