Apple makes iPhones and iOS as reliable as possible — but even so, your iPhone may occasionally give you trouble. You might have difficulty making or receiving calls, or the touchscreen might stop responding to your caresses. Connecting to Wi-Fi networks might become problematic, as might syncing with your Mac or PC.
This chapter tells you how to troubleshoot such problems, plus what to do if your iPhone’s problems are bad enough that you need to send it in for repairs. Even if your iPhone’s working just fine right now, you might want to skim this chapter for future reference.
Update Your iPhone and Computer
Before you try any of the moves in the next section, follow these three steps to bring your iPhone and your computer (if you’re using one) up to date:
Install the most recent version of iTunes (for macOS Mojave or earlier, or for Windows) on your Mac or PC. If you’re using macOS Catalina or later, make sure you’re using the most recent updates to that version.
