2.11 IPv6 Multicast Operation
We conclude this chapter with some concrete examples of IPv6 multicast operation and descrip-
tions of several utility programs related to multicasting and multicast routing. The description
of each utility is not comprehensive and we encourage the reader to read the manual pages for
further details.
2.11.1 ifmcstat Command
The ifmcstat command allows a system administrator to check whether a node is listening to
a particular multicast group. The ifmcstat command needs access to the kernel memory and
requires the super user privilege
