This chapter discusses all the details of DHCPv6. It is organized as follows: Section 4.2
provides the technical background for DHCPv6, including the protocol specification and com-
mon usage models. The succeeding sections describe KAME’s implementation of DHCPv6 along
with detailed examples of how the protocol works. These sections also discuss other details of
the protocol specification which Section 4.2 does not cover. Section 4.8 concludes this chapter
by showing operation examples of the KAME implementation for some common scenarios.
