CHAPTER 6 Control Plane Technologies for IPv6 Network Slicing
In addition to requiring resource partitioning in the forwarding plane and introducing slice identifiers in the data plane, IPv6 network slicing requires control plane technologies. This chapter describes these technologies by focusing on related control protocol extensions, including the IGP Multi-Topology (MT), Flexible Algorithm (Flex-Algo), Border Gateway Protocol-Link State (BGP-LS), BGP Shortest Path First (SPF), and Segment Routing (SR) Policy extensions for network slicing, as well as the Flow Specification (FlowSpec) extensions used for traffic steering to network resource slices.
