CHAPTER 8: BCPs AND PROCEDURES

With a significant proportion of your preparations complete, you can now turn your attention to the mechanisms you will use to respond to disruptive incidents. This section of the Standard requires that you create response structures, plans and procedures to guide and control the actions you take during a disruption.

When developing BCMS procedures for use in responding to a disruption, it is important to ensure they meet the requirements laid out in clause 8.4.1 of the Standard. These procedures must:

a)be specific regarding the immediate steps that are to be taken during a disruption;

b)be flexible to respond to the changing internal and external conditions of a disruption;
