I trust that the readers of this book recognise that there are no simple answers to the question of how to make large IT-enabled business change programmes successful. If there were it would be unusual to see programmes where large amounts of money have been spent without a return on investment. On the other hand, analyses of both successes and failures have concluded that following good practice is more likely to lead to success and that the inverse is also true.
