2 IT System Landscape of a Transport Company

In this chapter, we will introduce the most important processes and IT systems that transport companies use in order to organise their operations – or to be more precise, to plan, control, optimise and calculate their vehicle fleet.

Section 2.1 describes typical business processes and systems, how they interact and their spatial-organisational distribution. Commercial applications (so-called ERP systems) are not covered here.
