Controlling the service state

If we run the application now, our service won't run, so we need to make it such that it will run. We'll do that in a couple of different ways. The first way will be from our application. We want to make sure the service is running when we open the application, especially after it is just installed. To do that, we need to add one line to MainActivity.onCreate() as follows:

    startService(new Intent(this, DeskDroidService.class)); 

When the application is started now, it will guarantee that the service is running. We don't, though, want to require that the user open the application to run the service. Fortunately, we have a way to start the application when the phone starts. We can do that by installing a BroadcastReceiver ...
