NetBeans preferences and the Options panel

The key to managing preferences is two-fold: NbPreferences and the Options panel. NbPreferences is the means by which preferences are stored and loaded, and the options panel is the means by which the user is presented with a user interface for editing those preferences. We'll start by looking at how to add an Options panel, which will lead naturally to the NbPreferences discussion. Next is the NetBeans Options window:
