Once in a while, a real-life Java programmer encounters the need to manipulate and/or select data in/from several tables and comes up with a set of complex SQL statements. In one scenario, a database administrator looks at the suggested procedure and improves and optimizes it so much that it becomes impossible or at least impractical to implement it in Java.
